On April 9, 2021, the drilling of the central part of the Castiglione paleolake was completed.
Three boreholes of approximately 115 m, 126 m and 15 m were carried out. The longest boreholes were carried out at a distance of a few meters and slightly offset in order to allow a full recovery (close to 100%) of the investigated stratigraphic succession. The third parallel and shorter borehole allowed a better recovery of the first younger 15 meters.
