On May 15, 2021, a survey was carried out in the “Grotte di Falvaterra” (Lazio region, Central Italy) in order to visit the cave and collect speleothems. We collected pieces of stalagmites we found broken along the underground river side, probably pulled away from the original growth site and deposited there during flooding events. We chose not to cut down “in situ” samples to preserve the cave environment.
We thank Augusto Carrè for introducing us to this beautiful cave and for logistic support.
