The AMUSED WP3 project begins today the part of the experimentation that involves the reduction of CO2 in the air through the planting of high-absorbing vegetation. The study area is Cava dei Selci (Marino-Ciampino), known for its strong degassing of CO2 and H2S. Researchers of INGV and Tellus S.r.l. (spin-off of the Sant'Anna University of Pisa) started with joint measurements of diffuse CO2 flux and soil sampling for related chemical analyses. The latter will be used to identify the most suitable plant species to put at the edges of the high degassing area.
