Team in INQUA

The 21st INQUA 2023 congress (International Union for Quaternary Research) is taking place these days (July 14-20, 2023) at Sapienza University of Rome. The congress will deal with the recent geological past of planet Earth, the Quaternary, from different points of view.

Several INGV researchers are in Rome to present the first results of the AMUSED project to the international scientific community.

The topics under discussion will cover the stratigraphy and structure of the Castiglione paleolake and the first tephrochronological data from the drilled lacustrine sedimentary sequence. These data will be of fundamental importance for reconstructing in greater detail the climatic changes that have occurred over the past 280000 years.
