The first results of the AMUSED project are finally available and published in the scientific journal Quaternary International in Open Access mode. This paper presents electrical resistivity tomography (ERT) profiles, acquired at the center and rim of Castiglione crater to represent the geometry of the sedimentary fill, and shows a Composite sedimentary succession, the result of the synthesis of the two boreholes drilled. Results on the first of the many identified and studied volcanic levels (tephra) along the succession show that the paleolake has existed for at least 365 thousand years. The sedimentary succession has recorded several glacial/interglacial cycles from which will derive useful information for understanding past climatic variations at our latitudes.
