We plan 8 sessions, on average one per week, lasting about 3 hours composed of a number of topic lectures.  Sessions will be delivered during two periods: September-October 2026 those on Fault Recognition and Characterization, and February 2027 on Seismic Hazard. One further session for plenary discussion and questions is planned too. Sessions will be recorded.

Session' Themes

  1. Seismotectonic of the Western Balkans and local earthquakes in the area: The 2020 Petrinja (Croatia), the 1969 Banja Luka (Bosnia and Herzegovina), and the 1979 Bar (Montenegro) earthquakes
  2. Earthquake geology. Seismogenic fault recognition: tectonic geomorphology, geophysics, geodesy
  3. Earthquake geology. Coseismic effects on natural environment, mapping, inventories
  4. Parameters to characterize seismogenic faults. Fault behavior in time
  5. Ground-based and UAV-Based photogrammetry: a high-resolution mapping tool for earthquake geology and paleoseismology
  6. Practice time and Hands-on field WS introduction
  7. Ground-shaking Seismic Hazard Assessment (SHA)
  8. Surface faulting and Fault Displacement Hazard Analysis (FDHA)
  9. One-day Questions and General discussion

The preliminary time schedule of the Online sessions on fault recognition and characterization is available
