15 March 2021 X-ray fluorescence scanning was performed at the CNR ISMAR in Bologna. The measurement of X-ray fluorescence pointed out the variations in the chemical composition of the sediments, useful for the identification of tephra and cryptotephra. The obtained high resolution optical images allow to characterize the lithofacies by analyzing the textural characteristics and the sedimentological structures.
