In WP1 a detailed review of the existing geochemical data on thermal springs, gas-rich (mineral) waters and gas emissions from bubbling pools and vents located in the selected Italian Regions (i.e., Tuscany, Umbria, Marche, Emilia Romagna, Liguria, Piemonte, Valle d’Aosta, Lombardy, Trentino Alto Adige, Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia) will be carried out. For the data collection, scientific papers, reports, thesis from University partners and current web portals.
All gathered information will be organized into a dedicated database, the structure of which will be defined in WP4 to facilitate the development of the data storage and the web portal. In areas with partial or missing data, new geochemical sampling will be planned and performed by WP2, mainly focusing on thermal springs, gas-rich waters and free gas manifestations. WP1 is led by INGV-Roma1, with the contribution of INGV-Bologna, University of Florence, Perugia, Genoa and Calabria.
