Online Lectures and Hands-on Workshops
APPLICATIONS OPEN
We are thrilled to announce the launch of the International Training Programme for the IDASH Project (Integration of Data and Approaches for Seismic Hazard Assessment in CEI Regions).
What is the objective of the Training Programme?
IDASH wants to provide participants with the theoretical and practical basis of modern approaches for the recognition, characterization, and analysis of seismogenic faults in space and time. Through a combination of online lectures, hands-on field training, and practical applications in seismic hazard assessment, the project aims to strengthen scientific and technical capacities and promote the adoption of advanced methodologies aligned with European standards also in EU candidate countries in the CEI region.
Funded by the Central European Initiative (CEI) through the Know-how Exchange Programme (KEP) and coordinated by the Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia (INGV), IDASH brings together leading institutions from Italy, Croatia, Slovenia, and Montenegro.
Why Join the IDASH Training Programme?
Whether you are a student looking to kickstart your research career, a young scientist wanting to expand your toolkit, or a senior expert interested in regional cooperation, this program offers a unique blend of high-level theoretical learning and concrete fieldwork.
During the training you will have the opportunity to participate to:
Online Thematic Lectures on Fault Recognition – See schedule September 3rd October 7th , 2026, one 3 hours session per week
Hands-on Field Workshop on Earthquake Geology and Paleoseismology – held near Petrinja (Croatia) – See preliminary programme October 12th to 18th , 2026
Online Thematic Lectures on Seismic Hazard Assessment schedule February 2027, 3 hours sessions per week
Hands-on Workshop on Integrating Fault Data into Seismic Hazard Assessment – held in Podgorica (Montenegro) 5 days in April 2027
Who Can Apply?
Applications are open to postgraduate, Master’s, and PhD students, early-career scientists, and senior experts from all CEI countries, both EU and non-EU members.
Priority for workshop participation and limited financial support or grants will be given to applicants from EU candidate countries within the CEI region, namely Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Ukraine.
