Claudia Piromallo graduated in Physics at the University of Bologna (Italy) in 1993 and soon after she started her research activity at INGV in Rome, in the sector of Seismology. 

She got the position of researcher at INGV in 1999 and has been in charge of the Seismology Group at INGV-Roma1 (2005-2014) and of the 

Geodynamics and Earth’s Interior Group of INGV Earthquake Dept (2014-2017).
Her research interests concern the Earth’s inner structure and geodynamics, both at regional and global scales, through seismology, seismic tomography and numerical modelling studies.
She is presently the Principal Coordinator of AlpArray and responsible for INGV in the planning of the new AdriaArray (2022-2025) pan-european initiatives.
