Graduated in Physics. Since 1999 he has been a scientist at the Unit of Geomagnetism of Istituto Nationale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia in Rome. 

His expertise ranges from applied technology to the instrumentation used for measurements in geomagnetism to the management of national geomagnetic observatories and in polar areas, participating in 9 campaigns in Antarctica.

Also data processing and scientific studies on geomagnetic field variations and their effects are fields of his interest and work.

He has taught at the university level in courses on applied geophysics, geomagnetism and general physics. 

He has been principal investigator in several projects funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research.
