Valentina Romano graduated in Exploration Geology in 2014 with a mark of 110/110 “cum laude” and achieved a PhD in Earth’s Science in 2018, both at University “La Sapienza” in Rome. From 2015 until 2019 she has been Visiting Scholar first, and then Post Doctoral Research Associate at the Geology Department of the University of Illinois, in Urbana-Champaign (USA). She took part to numerous campaigns, either in Italy and abroad, including the XXXV Italian Antarctic Expedition.

From 2023 she has a permanent research position at INGV. Her main research interests are focused on applied geophysics, from data acquisition to data analysis and modelling. She also works on numerical modelling of fluid flow in fractured media, with broad applications in earth sciences. She is actively involved in several research projects.

In the framework of MARGE, she mainly contributes to “Task 3 – MT Survey” and “Task 4 – MT Data Analysis”, working on MT data acquisition campaigns, and data analysis.
