Dr. Santarelli Lucia graduated in Physics at L’Aquila University in 2001, discussing a thesis on “Polarization of the geomagnetic pulsations recorded at L’Aquila.”

Then, she obtained her Ph.D in Physical and Chemical Sciences with a thesis on “Multi-scala nature of geomagnetic fluctuations” at L’Aquila University.

She has been a Researcher at Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia since 2007.

During the years as a temporary research scientist she studied the properties of the fluctuations of the geomagnetic field and their correlation with the parameters of the solar wind and the interplanetary magnetic field; she also performed studies on the secular variation, the diurnal variation of geomagnetic pulsations and the dependence on solar cycle and seasons.

She has been a permanent research position since 2016 and her research activity is continuing to be focused on the study of the magnetospheric dynamics, the processes due to the Sun-Earth interaction and Space Weather phenomena.
