WP1.4 - Seismicity and ambient noise (referent Paola Cusano)
Partecipants: Pierdomenico Del Gaudio, Danilo Galluzzo, Guido Gaudiosi, Anna Gervasi, Mario La Rocca, Girolamo Milano, Simona Morabito, Lucia Nardone, Simona Petrosino, Luciano Zuccarello
The WP aims to characterize the seismic wavefield in the target areas by applying several methodologies to transients and background noise, in time and frequency domains.
Activity 2. Waveform characterization
Several methodologies are applied to seismic noise and earthquakes, in frequency and time domain: Spectral, RMS, H/V, TFA, ICA and harmonic analyses. Atmospheric patterns are matched with seismological behaviors.

Activity 3. Array techniques
Ambient noise, acquired by seismic arrays, is analyzed by using array techniques to track the wavefield components and to characterize the propagation medium.
